Pictures from the hospital.

One of the toughest days. Made for some tough pictures. But I’m glad I have them. I want to remember. I’m pretty awesome at blocking things out, so this blog is here to preserve memories I’m sure I’d otherwise lose.

I wanted to hold her. She wanted to be held. She kept putting her foot up on me, because she couldn’t reach her hand up- it had the IV in it.

Life Flight people are the best in the world. I will never EVER see one of those birds fly by and not say a prayer for them, for the person inside they’re transporting and for their family- who are as terrified as I was.

Right before they took her out to the helicopter.

In the intensive care. The blue tube was forcing air into her. It sounded like a small hair dryer for the first little bit while she was really struggling.  And to make up for how not cute the last pictures were- check out Abs on the way home. Tell me she’s not the cutest little girl in the entire world.

  1. I wish I knew what to say other than we've been praying and thinking about you guys A LOT! I also ditto Pam's comment. You have been much missed and Peyton needs to come over as soon as Grace gets over her cold and we are sure no one else has one.

  2. That picture of you reaching down to her on the stretcher is so hard to look at. I'm so sorry for the fear and heartache that must have caused you. And poor Abby, that sweet little baby. You both are so tough. I don't care what you say, you are one of the strongest women I know.

  3. Yeah, those are TOUGH to look at. The one where she's looking up at you with panic on her face and you're looking behind her with panic on yours…. The one with her little leg propped up on you and she's so, so sad…. They tear me up! I'm so sorry you had to go through that! Poor baby girl! Poor mama! I'm glad you put the last photo of her on here–it melted me right into a puddle. She is the very cutest girl evahhhh!

  5. These pics remind me of when Gil was in the hospital getting his open heart surgery. I took pics too..I look at them now and see how far he's come…This too shall pass!…As Gil got bigger and stronger he also got healthier..You should see him now 7 yrs later…Such a Chunk-Chunk…before I couldn't get him to gain the weight needed for surgery…now he needs to lose weight..Go figure???
